Terms & Conditions

Welcome to GoOutsideBro. These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GoOutsideBro mobile app and related services (the “Service”), operated by GoOutsideBro (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. The Service

GoOutsideBro is a social app that helps you compete with friends to reduce your phone screen time. It tracks screen-time data reported by your device, calculates streaks, records, achievements, and rankings, and lets you connect with friends through groups, challenges, leaderboards, reactions, and comments. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

3. Your account

You sign in using a one-time passcode sent to your phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Screen-time data

To provide the Service, we collect screen-time and app-usage data reported by your device and operating system (with your permission) and store it on our servers. This includes your daily minutes, per-app usage, and the streaks, records, and rankings we derive from it. How we collect, use, store, share, and let you delete this data is described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not guarantee that this data is complete or accurate, and screen-time figures, rankings, streaks, and recaps are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. You should not rely on them for any medical, health, or other important decision.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Harass, bully, impersonate, or harm other users, or post content that is abusive, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Falsify, manipulate, or tamper with screen-time data or otherwise cheat within challenges, streaks, or leaderboards;
  • Access another user’s account, or collect or harvest other users’ information without consent;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; or
  • Use automated means to access the Service in a way that burdens our infrastructure.

We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that we reasonably believe violate these Terms.

6. User content

You retain ownership of the content you create, such as your profile details, comments, and reactions (“User Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service — for example, showing your comments to your friends. You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to share it.

7. Friends, groups, and invites

The Service lets you connect with other people through friend requests, groups, challenges, and invite or referral codes. Information you share through these features — including your screen-time figures and achievements — may be visible to the people you connect with, as described in our Privacy Policy. Only invite people you know, and respect others’ privacy.

8. Notifications

With your permission, we may send push notifications about your streaks, challenges, friends’ activity, and reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding (but excluding User Content), is owned by us and our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Supabase, Apple Push Notification service, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Your use of the Service may also be subject to the terms of the app store from which you downloaded the app. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not endorse them.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that data will be accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoOutsideBro and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoOutsideBro and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
